Description
Best Orange Chicken Ever Recipe
If you love Asian cuisine and usually only have when you do take-out, you have to try this recipe. The sweet orange sauce with the spicy brings this dish over the top! The take-out your used to getting will be a disappointment after making this.
Directions
- You can marinade chicken in 1.5 cups of sauce for 1-2 hours. I prefer better without marinating. I think it gets to sweet, try it both ways and see what you like the best.
- In med sauce pan combine all sauce ingredients and bring to boil and reduce to simmer and let this simmer for 1 hour until reduced.
- In a pie pan add 2 cups of flour and 1 teaspoon baking powder, mix together and dredge cubed chicken.
- In another pie plate add eggs and whisk
- In a large pot add oil, turn heat on med/high and wait for it to get hot.
- dredged chicken in egg and then flour (a few pieces at a time) fry until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Just before you are finished frying, bring sauce back up to a boil.
- Place the chicken (Snap peas optional) on a large platter and pour the sauce over.
- Sprinkle with toasted black sesame seeds, toasted silvered almonds and green onions.
- Serve with rice.
- Note... If you don't marinade you'll have extra sauce. You can freeze it for next time :)
