• 3/4 lb ground beef
  • 3/4 lb ground pork
  • 1/2 cup diced fried onions
  • 2 slices of bread,
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon worchestire sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 3 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon kitchen bouquet
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 cup sour cream, heaping
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons fresh parsley

The Best Swedish Meatballs

Directions

  1. In med sautee pan add 1 tablespoon butter and sautee until browned.
  2. In a med bowl tear bread into pieces and cover in milk
  3. In large bowl add ground beef and pork, egg, onions, parsley and seasonings.
  4. Roll into small meatballs, I made about 25.
  5. Preheat oven 350F
  6. In a large skillet oven add 2 tablespoons butter, turn heat to med/high and add your meatballs, turning once there browned, cooking for about 15 mins.
  7. Once browned remove from skillet and place them in a dutch oven and cover.
  8. Add 1/4 cup flour to your meatball drippings, whisking until bubbly.
  9. Pour in 3 cups beef broth and continue to whisk until thickened then add kitchen bouquet, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder and 1/4 cup sour cream.
  10. When all blended pour over meatballs and cook for 15 mins.
  11. Serve with mashed potatoes, or egg noodles.
